01 / THE OVERVIEW
A commit. A deployment.
An early DevOps lab connecting a source-code change to an automated deployment, with a separate Jenkins shared-library experiment for reusable build steps.
The DevOps-Project repository documents a GitHub webhook integration that triggers Jenkins jobs to retrieve code, start a Docker container, and test the website.
02 / MY CONTRIBUTION
The work behind it.
- 01
Connected GitHub events with Jenkins job execution.
- 02
Organized the documented pipeline into code retrieval, container deployment, and website testing.
- 03
Used a portfolio website as the application for the deployment exercise.
- 04
Built a separate Groovy shared-library experiment with Maven packaging and Docker build, login, and push helpers.
03 / THE APPROACH
Connecting the pieces.
Keep the delivery steps explicit and make common work reusable. The lab separates application changes from the steps used to build and ship them.
04 / RESULT & SCOPE
What this demonstrates.
Public documentation of an automated deployment exercise, plus inspectable Groovy source for reusable Jenkins steps. These are learning projects, not evidence of production scale.
Relevant to GitHub webhook integrations, Jenkins pipelines, Docker deployment workflows, and reusable Groovy build steps.
Based on the public DevOps-Project README and the jenkins-shared-library source. The interactive lab on this website is a separate illustrative simulation.
